A life free from addiction and substance abuse is achievable. Valley’s Alcohol and Drug (A&D) services—including substance abuse therapy and general addiction therapy—are available throughout Salt Lake, Summit and Tooele counties and provide everything from outpatient and intensive outpatient programs to day treatment and residential services. Needs-specific programs include intensive dual-diagnosis treatment, addiction intervention, gender-specific programs, services for those 55 years and older, programs for homeless individuals, trauma-based treatment and services for those with criminal records. And because substance use is often accompanied by mental illness, all of our programs provide access to A&D resources.
Families in Recovery Staying Together (FIRST) is all about parenting, recovery and rebuilding relationships in the midst of substance use and mental health issues. FIRST offers assistance for reunification with children, domestic violence and relationships services, parenting classes and evidence-based trauma treatment, in addition to therapy, medication management and medication-assisted treatment (MAT).
